After watching the trailer, I referred to Wikipedia to learn more about the Cristero War.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristero_War

It sounds exactly like what's happening today. Listen to their words and tell me that these murderous anti-Catholic tyrants don't sound like the loyal opposition on this blog, or like a college professor, or a liberal pundit on MSNBC. They use all the same arguments to oppress us as they did them, with all the same motivations.

And then they try to tell us that it's for our own good!

I will definitely see it when it comes out.

TRISHAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3555199390227912207.post-19797625566317793142012-05-28T07:38:48.612-04:002012-05-28T07:38:48.612-04:00Joey,

I'm definitely going to see this one.

Heaven forbid Hollywood would put out a movie that isn't either A) profane, or B) the 900th installment of a Marvel comics franchise. From the trailer it looks like a movie about freedom and what it takes to defend it.

It seems so relevant to the times we're living in.

The TorchAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3555199390227912207.post-16063703264775999442012-05-28T07:25:09.636-04:002012-05-28T07:25:09.636-04:00Joey,

Did you see this trailer for Great Glo...Dr. Egnor,

Did you see this trailer for Great Glory (Cristiana)?

I almost fell out of my chair. It's a movie about freedom, and a movie about God and family! Surely this isn't a Hollywood film.

The Mexican government tramples all over religious liberty and a group of freedom loving patriots decide to put up a fight.

The fact that such a movie would come out now, when our government is at war with our religious liberty, is just delicious. I hope people draw parallels. They should. Don't ever say "It can't happen here." It is happening here!

http://www.forgreaterglory.com/

JoeyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3555199390227912207.post-65998158175010423572012-05-28T06:18:55.263-04:002012-05-28T06:18:55.263-04:00Anonymous,

I didn't say that. You don't unde...No, sir. I didn't say that. You don't understand what I'm saying and I don't think you're trying either. There's more than one way to defend one's freedom. The Catholic Church is defending its freedom right now from the overbearing, tyrannical, freedom-crushing Obama administration. They should have started sooner.

Rosa Parks did more than exercise her freedom, she fought for it. A black person riding a bus today who sat while a white person stood would not get in any trouble. That person would still be exercising his/her freedom, but he/she wouldn't be doing anything patriotic. Actually, Rosa Parks is a great illustration of what I'm talking about.

What I had in mind when I wrote the words you responded to was the Westboro Baptist Church. I can't express my revulsion for that organization without using profanity, so just let it be known that I don't like them. But, being a true liberal (which today makes me a conservative), I subscribe to the maxim, "I may not agree with what you say but I will fight to the death for your right to say it."

Fred Phelps, pompous ass though he may be, is exercising his rights when he protests outside soldiers' funerals with signs that read "God Hates Fags" and "God Bless IED's." He is exercising his freedom, but that in and of itself is not an act of patriotism.

How about the birthers? They spread the misinformation that Obama was actually born in Kenya. It isn't true, but they're exercising their free speech rights when they say that he is. It doesn't help Obama much that he used to fib about his biography just to gain extra victim points and accentuate his blackness. Are the birthers great patriots?

And somehow you understood my comment to mean that the only true acts of patriotism involve killing people. I never said that and I don't mean it.

You make dialogue useless. You're the reason why we can't have a civilized conversation in this country.

JQAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3555199390227912207.post-25317350326362024082012-05-27T16:59:21.854-04:002012-05-27T16:59:21.854-04:00Right, it just ain't patriotism unless you kil...Right, it just ain't patriotism unless you kill someone.
