Government shutdown taking toll on Democrats

This GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN has been a terrible thing. Without a government minder, it's simply too dangerous to hike in a national park, national forest, or Heaven forbid, a wilderness area. Despite the obvious risks, some state governments (like Wisconsin, which is currently in thrall to Evil Republicans), have refused to close state parks putting all state residents and visitors at risk of serious injury or death. Fortunately, the White House has barrycaded the Lincoln Memorial and the WWII Memorial, both of which are massive stone structures that are especially susceptible to erosion from the sustained gaze of tourists and the occasional spilled Sno-Cone.

President Lackwit had these stirring words to rally the American people in this time of looming apocalypse:

Tourists will find every one of America's national parks and monuments, from Yosemite to the Smithsonian to the Statue of Liberty, immediately closed. And of course the communities and small business that rely on these national treasures for their livelihoods will be out of customers and out of luck. So fuck you.

Personally, I think that last sentence may have been added later. But as they say in the legacy news biz, it's "fake but accurate".

    1. Many Americans are deeply distraught by the shutdown. A common cry I hear on the street "Without the government, who will suck the life out of me?"

  2. Tell you what, fool, why don't you "patriotic" leftists donate an amount equal to the "fair share" you want to sqeeze out of us real Americans -- letting us off the hook -- and prove how *really* patriotic you are.

  3. It's a conundrum isn't it? Should pointless and wasteful in a spite-your-face sort of way obstacles be known for all time as 'barrycades' or as 'barackades'?

    1. Since the French Revolution, hasn't it always been the second-favorite activity of leftists, the first being the piling up windrows of corpses, to theatrically "man the barackades"?
