My head is spinning. Former New York Times executive editor Bill Keller, normally a font of silliness, pens a thoughtful essay on hate crime legislation.
I think he's right, although I would add that hate crime laws as currently applied are applied selectively.
Still, even being half-right is a leap forward for a New York Times editor.
