High impact journalism

The wet dream of everyone ever accosted by an ambush journalist.

I'm ashamed to say that this made me laugh. At least the reporter wasn't hurt. He had sense of humor and posted it on his own facebook page.

Hard not to laugh if the guy is okay.

    Let me rephrase this.

The wet dream of everyone ever accosted by an ambush atheist.

    Just kidding of course.

I do like atheists, they make so an easy target for ridicule.

They are so primitive in their thinking (Aquinas is light years ahead, just read bachfiend comments) I feel a bit sorry for them, similar to when I look at may dog wide open brown eyes who does not have a clue of where I am leading him in my daily walk.

    1. Your last comment is the "proof in the pudding" of your cluelessness.

Do you have any idea of what a "cause" is?

If so, please say what is the cause of your own existence!

I await your answer with MUCHO anticipation...

  3. Pepe,

Cause? Which ones? Aristotle's Four Causes? They aren't useful in looking at reality. I might read 'the Last Sperstition' (if it's ever released as a Kindle edition). But it's such a minor book, I doubt it ever will be. And I don't read carbon based data retrieval units anymore, because it takes months for books to be sent to Australia, particularly trivial books such as this.

Going on your inability to understand the climate change websites you link to, I doubt that you have the. Intellectual capacity to understand philosophy.

What are you? CrusadeRex is a serving military officer. Michael is a practicing neurosurgeon. I'm a retired anatomical pathologist, which means I've studied at university and completed a postgraduate qualification (like Michael).

    What are your qualifications?

Your question says more about you than Pepe's answer could possible say about him.

    2. Michael,

Yes, it does tell a lot about me. I don't tolerate fools gladly.

    3. bachfiend,

I'm a software engineer. I have seen logic and complexity up close and personal, but I fail to see the same in your comments. Since you have retired so young, it is because your cognitive faculties were declining?

    Shame on you, Bach.

We are all interdependent with each other. We need doctors as much as we need train drivers and garbage workers.

    Learn some humility, Bach.

Interdependence is and ought to be as much the ideal of man as self-sufficiency. Man is a social being. Without interrelation with society he cannot realize his oneness with the universe or suppress his egotism. His social interdependence enables him to test his faith and to prove himself on the touchstone of reality.

    Mahatma Gandhi, Young India, March 21, 1929, p. 93

And btw, When I ordered The Last Superstition last year from Amazon, it only took 3 weeks to arrive in Melb.

  5. Melbourne-Theist,

When I order a Kindle book, it arrives in 60 seconds. I don't read paper books anymore.

Pepe is an idiot. He persists in linking to exactly the same web pages, written by a coal mining engineer 'skeptical' of global warming, Pitched at exactly the right level for his target audience. Idiots.

I don't know what Pepe does. He could be a train driver for all I know. It doesn't matter. My father was a bus driver before he became a gardener at the local primary school, and he was pretty smart. He didn't accomplish as much as he should have, Great Depression and all that, but he did have 7 children, all of whom were successes to some degree or another.

You can be intelligent and have high qualifications and still have idiotic opinions about certain areas. Michael is a prime example of that.

I hope you're not crashing the GAC in Melbourne next month ...

(I may still offer these guys a bridge in England or a tower in France as a sure investment.)

  6. Bach,
I know you and Pépé enjoy lamb-basting each other, but you should note that his biggest impediment to expression is not education or natural intelligence.
Rather it is language. He is a native French speaker. I think he does VERY well at expressing some very complex ideas, and certainly has the capacity to absorb very deep stuff in English. No doubt his spoken English is even better (certainly my own French is).
Bilingualism (or multilingualism) is an attribute I ascribe to a natural level of intelligence. We can all learn a smattering of other tongues, but to hold on to them and USE them is a gift of those with greater intellectual capacity. So is understanding the importance of CAUSALITY.
I am sure your estimation of Aristotle's metaphysics would be GREATLY enhanced with a fresh look. I am not suggesting you would reach the same conclusions as Augustine, Aquinas R Egnor, Pépé, or even myself - but you would be served very well by an understanding of it beyond the modern polemic response to it.

bachfiend can't even put acute accents on my moniker, contrary to you and your purposeful tablet.
