  1. Michael,

It's typical of you to be amused by such a moronic spoof.

Actually, I used to own a Prius. I regularly got 4.3 litres/100 km (I think that's around 60 mpg) so just in the money on petrol saved it was worth it. Petrol in Australia is more expensive than in America. I noticed as I was passing the local service station that it's around $1.40 per litre, which would be about $5.60 a gallon (although I understand that Americans use a smaller gallon - 3.8 litres instead of 4.3 litres.).

I sold it to one of my brothers (for less than market value) because I no longer needed a car. He's on the religious wing of the family, conservative, an AGW denialist and also commonly dates events as being PBG (pre-Billy Graham) and PBG (post-Billy Graham) from the time Billy visited Perth. He's also chuffed by the car, being impressed by its technology and its fuel efficiency.

Richard Muller, in his recent book 'Energy Policy for Future Presidents' reckons that the standard Prius makes sense if you drive a fair distance each year. But that you'd have to be mad to buy the model with the mains rechargeable batteries allowing you to run entirely without petrol as the cost of replacing the extra batteries is just too high to be economic. He calculate that a standard car costs 10 cents per mile. The Prius plus (when you add in the extra batteries replacement cost) runs to 75 cents a mile.

    1. bachfiend, where is your sense of humor?

I know, I know, you think AGW is real and this video makes fun of that, hum... what's the word?... fact (sic)...no...fiction!

    2. Pepe,

I was trying to ignore you and your idiotic comments. But this spoof is just moronic. My comment was about the fuel efficiency of the Prius. Do you get 60 mpg (I suppose if you use the American gallon it would be around 50 mpg) from your car? In a very nice package?

And anyway, AGW is true and happening. You and your idiotic 'Plant Fossils of West Virginia' (compiled by a coal mining engineer of all people) are just wrong.

    3. bachfiend,

Have you heard about the Unprecedented Greenland Ice Sheet Surface Melt?

Is it due to AGW if it happens every 150 years or so?

  2. Yeah. Without us humans to appreciate her, Earth is just another space rock. No particular moral value in saving another space rock.

I guess this all proves that if you are human you have to worship something. So why not worship a space rock?

    1. David,

We don't have to worry about saving the Earth, a 'space rock' as you put it. The Earth will do very nicely without us, because it did very well without us for billions of years before we evolved, Chicxulub meteorite or supervolcano here or there.

What we do have to worry about is human survival, or at least having a pleasant existence, if AGW leads to dire consequences or we don't have enough energy to fulfill our needs.

    2. Bach, I have absolutely no objection to conservation. It goes along with being a conservative. Hell, I was a member of the Sierra Club back in the days before it sold itself to the Democrat Party.

We need responsible stewardship in order to assure human survival. I agree completely. Trash collection in the 3rd world is beyond pathetic and a threat to marine life. Burning every available carbon atom in one grand orgy of consumption seems to me to be short sighted.

All that being said, we don't need to propagate views like this: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://gifstumblr.com/images/im-afraid-you-have-humans_1324.jpg&imgrefurl=http://gifstumblr.com/cool/im-afraid-you-have-humans-1324&h=300&w=400&sz=30&tbnid=pscU0aCXTB5fnM:&tbnh=91&tbnw=121&zoom=1&usg=__fhEcNjIJblmuVzORVnFeR8o4pOQ=&docid=oG-lP7eSp7IUcM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=im9TUKGgDKiU2gWNjYHYAQ&ved=0CCIQ9QEwAQ&dur=21

Sorry I don't know how to paste the image. The idea that the earth has an illness caused by an infection known as 'humans' is what I object to. I hope you agree.

  3. Liberals impaled thru the heart and lungs! What a hoot! It’s so deliciously cruel and juvenile. If you find it offensive that conservatives are getting a chuckle out of impaling a caricature of you, lighten up, it’s only a joke.

It’s a shame that I can never find any good funny videos of conservatives being killed on the liberal websites. I wonder why that is? I guess it’s just one of the many differences between liberals and conservatives.

  4. I sure hope Anders Breivik gets to see this in prison in Norway. I’m sure he would LOVE it!
