It' about time...

George Zimmerman sues NBC over Trayvon Martin reports
“NBC created this false and defamatory misimpression using the oldest form of yellow journalism: manipulating Zimmerman’s own words, splicing together disparate parts of the recording to create illusions of statements that Zimmerman never actually made.”

The suit against NBC alleges four other instances in which NBC-produced shows aired false and defamatory versions of the same events. Zimmerman faces a second-degree murder charge in the case.
The botched edits, charges the suit, were far from innocent mistakes: “Defendants pounced on the Zimmerman/Martin matter because they knew this tragedy could be, with proper sensationalizing and manipulation, a racial powderkeg that would result in months, if not years, of topics for their failing news programs, particularly the plummeting ratings for their ailing “Today Show” as well as for the individual defendants to “make their mark” for reporting a [manipulated] story such as this.” Individual defendants are Lilia Luciano and Jeff Burnside, NBC employees involved in early cases of Zimmerman mis-editing.

I hope Zimmerman takes NBC to the cleaners. A trillion-dollar award would be just fine.

NBC doctored the 911 tape in such a way as to misrepresent the motives of a criminal defendant in front of a nationwide audience and to intentionally inflame racial hate and violence at a time of potentially violent racial animosity.

Does it get any lower?

  1. You should start a support group. Perhaps you could call it “Christians for Murderous Racist Vigilantes”.

  2. There should also be a class action from the various victims of violence and intimidation that occurred AFTER the whole race game that these networks played into.
I recall reading about all the horrendous backlash. Beatings, molestations, intimidation etc.
NBC has a LOT to answer for here.
The latest photos show a man who's face has been badly assaulted. From the latest 'release' of photos, it looks pretty clear to me he had his nose broken and his head struck to the point of cutting the scalp. This does not happen as the result of a scuffle. These injuries are clear indication of a sustained assault.
That image fits in neatly with Mr Zimmerman's account of events.
Another aspect of the case that I feel needs to be addressed is how the press characterized this as a 'white on black' race issue. Mr Zimmerman is clearly of Hispanic and Semitic origin. One does not have to be a geneticist to note his traits. In fact, one would have to be blind NOT to notice he is not the stereotypical 'white'.
Then there was the ridiculously outdated images of Mr Marten that were plastered everywhere (a yearbook image from when he was 14?). Soon after there was releases of images of Mr Marten at his current age displaying a very different demeanour and style of dress etc.
Facts, it seems to me, have taken a back seat to a perverse racialist, victim culture fantasy in this case.
I can only imagine what would have happened if Mr Marten had managed to kill Mr Zimmerman.
A small story in the local media, I would guess. Maybe a small spot on the national news.
'Another security guard killed by unknown assailant in gated Florida community. Police suggest there is no reason for alarm for normal citizens.' Maybe a byline saying they were searching for a black man between the ages of 18-25 or stating that if Mr Zimmerman had not been armed he may have lived despite his head injuries, as the assailant had finally killed him with his own weapon.

  3. Leftists appear to be the most intellectually dishonest-and-disgusting creatures in the world, as witness the comment by 'KW'.

    1. I am not sure he will.
It all depends on what will cause the most sensational results (ie division, race riots etc).
I suspect he will win the criminal case (eventually, maybe even on appeal) and settle in the civil.
Just a guess, but one based on past trends.

  5. Obama should sue every conservative individual and outlet who used his “you didn’t build that” comment to mislead people to think he was referring to businesses, when in fact he was refereeing to roads and bridges. A trillion each sounds good.

Of course he won’t because liberals aren’t litigious crybabies always out to make a buck.
