This is why you didn't hear about it.
Not all mass shooters succeed. When they fail, its usually because the gun-free zone they counted on wasn't gun-free.
How is it, again, that legally disarming everyone in Sandy Hook school made it safer?
Gun control kills.

There will be gun-free zones unless you completely militarize the country. It will have to be in a state of war like Israel. Crus has already expressed his professional opinion about the feasibility of your fantasy.

Look up to the South that has lots more people carrying guns than the Northeast. Compare the homicide rates. Discuss.
ReplyDeleteStats
Hoo
Homicide rates correlate much more closely with Democrat Party demographics than they do with region of the nation. A map of population density of Democrats would be practically superimposable on a map of gun crime.
ReplyDeleteAnd non-gun enthusiasts commit murder at a much higher rate than gun enthusiasts. How many gang-bangers in the South Side of Chicago belong to the NRA?
You want correlation, I'll give you correlation.
I had no idea the South was democratic. I thought it voted Republican. Live and learn.
ReplyDeleteDepends on how precisely you break it down. Murder rates are high in the South largely because of Southern cities-- Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Memphis, D.C.-- bluer than blue, solid Democrat.
DeleteVirtually all gun crime in the US is committed by people in the Democrat demographic.
Ya' know, like you.
None of those cities is a gun-free one. By blaming the Democrats, you are moving the goal posts. You are an intellectual weasel, Dr. Egnor.

But we digress, the South has more guns than the Northeast. It also has fewer People living in populous cities. Yet it has a higher murder rate than the Northeast. By half.

Vox Day already kicked ass and took names on this debate.
ReplyDeleteIn short, former(?) drug addict and atheist extremist Sam Harris took a list of the 25 safest and 25 most dangerous cities in America, then showed that 17 of the safest cities were in blue states, while 13 of the most dangerous cities were in red states. This was suppose to prove that Democratic societies are more civil, less crime-riddled societies than are Conservative ones.
What Day did to completely destroy Harris' horrible argument was, rather than focusing on states, he focused on counties. After all, it's not people in, say, beautiful Madison, Indiana's fault that so many of the people of Gary, Indiana happen to violent, murderous thugs; the two towns are hundreds of miles, and figuratively world's apart..
The end result told a much different story than Harris' data.
Of the 25 safest cities in America, 13 were in red counties. Most shocking of all, of the 25 most dangerous cities in America, a whopping 21 -- 84% for those with limited math skills (hi, Hoo!) -- were in blue counties.
So, what gives? Why are Democrat-voting cities so much more violent than Republican-voting cities?
The breakdown by county, rather than by state, is a much more refined and accurate comparison of Democrat and Republican culture and governance. Breakdown by county is obviously catastrophic for Democrats, which is why they never do it.
DeleteThere really are, in a lot of ways, two Americas. The makers and the takers is a good way to put it.
