"Meet the Jerk"

Gregory and his wife at the White House

Michelle Malkin:
David Gregory’s problem is that he’s a jerk
Gregory is a narcissistic liberal tool with a second-rate intellect who is for all practical purposes employed by the Democrat Party. He only pretends to be a journalist-- his wife is a Washington power-broker lawyer, previously employed as executive vice president of Fannie Mae (salary was 3 million $/year, salary and bonuses-- you might ask what "legal" service she provided to earn the bonuses). She resigned just before the government took control of the criminal enterprise.

Heck, I didn't need a psychologist to tell me that Gregory's an smug elitist money-grubbing ass posing as a journalist.

May his show crash and burn, as it is crashing and burning, along with the ratings of the whole spectrum of liberal fake news/interview shows on Sunday morning. It's the talk radio effect played out on television-- the public gets a gut-full of smug slack-jawed liberal blather, and they hit the off button. Who wants to watch Gregory (or Shieffer or Stephanopoulos or Crowley) preen and pose and carry liberal water, pretending to real political analysis and probing interviews, while merely shilling for liberal elites whose ranks they strive to join?

It's simple really. Conservatives are afraid you won't understand them. Liberals are afraid you will.  Liberals never succeed when they talk out loud about their own ideas. So they suck at talking out loud.

  1. But what we want to know is - is he a fraud? After all, all your other enemies are.

    1. Of course he's a fraud. How many times has he mentioned that his wife was at the core of the Fannie Mae scandal, and that he and she made millions from it, while he was "reporting" on the scandal and the financial meltdown it caused on national television.

      F.R.A.U.D.

And, by the way, your question was racist.

The corporate news media conglomerates are dying, It should have been clear from the experience with Air America, which eventually ended up raiding a children's charity fund to stay on the air, that they're hawking a product that doesn't sell. Nobody wants to listen to that claptrap. Look at Gore's Current TV, for Pete's sake. Or even MSNBC. They're barely distinguishable from the security cam in the Hilton parking building.

And Gregory himself isn't particularly bright, articulate, interesting, or good-looking. So there's nothing going for him personally. Hiring a psychologist is a symptom of desperation. What they should do is get somebody interesting.

Air America and Hot Air are both double entendres. The difference is, Hot Air is still in business and it's hasn't stolen any money - sorry, gotten any "loans" - from ghetto kids to pay the bills.

  4. You guys won’t be happy until it’s only super partisan right-wingers on every outlet all the time. From my perspective Gregory is a corporate flack who invites a disproportionate number of conservatives on his show then lets them spew unchallenged bullshit.

    1. "Corporate flack" and "Democrat tool" are synonyms. Crony capitalism is Democrat policy. Ask President Goldman Sachs/General Motors/Solyndra/GE.

    4. As Matt Taibbi has noted in 'Griftopia' and 'the Divide', American politicians (both Democrat and Republican) exist predominantly to get campaign donations. To pay for increasingly expensive election campaigns (will 2016 be the 2 billion dollar election?)

It's the main reason why America is so dysfunctional. To an outsider, there's very little difference between Democrats and Republicans with the exception that Republicans are generally a bit more irrational.

The surprising thing about American politics is that there are very few liberals.

    5. Hoo, how convenient of you to cherry-pick big oil. Last time I checked, they're far from the only ones with financial ties to politicians. There's more than enough corruption to go around both parties. The Obama family have thus far tallied over $150 million, taken out of the US Treasury, on vacations. Vacations! They're using the office of presidency to lavish themselves with extravagant foods, designer clothing and everything in-between. Even kings weren't treated so well. It's a disgrace, an abuse of authority, and it all comes at the American taxpayers' expense.

    6. We can all agree that crony capitalism is a problem, but to think it’s just a Democratic problem is pure madness. There is only one Party objecting to the Supreme Court’s gutting of campaign finance laws and it’s not the Republicans. With the possible exception of Elizabeth Warren, I doubt there’s a national political figure that hasn’t been corrupted by our crooked campaign financing system.

How many of you conservatives concerned about crony capitalism are in favor of public financing of elections, or limits on individual and corporate political advertisement? If the answer is as I suspect, none of you, then quit you’re hypocritical bitching.

      Elizabeth Warren? You mean Lieawatha?

    8. KW:

      You're joking about Warren's incorruptability, aren't you?

She has done shill work for corporations personally, and owes her academic stardom to her fake claims of Indian ancestry.

She's a demagogue and an opportunist of the lowest order.

      Incorruptible. Heh.

Egnor, to be fair, Lieawatha Warren did us all a public service by contributing ancient family recipes to the Pow Wow Chow cookbook (a book offered by her campaign as evidence for her native American status).

Why, I can just imagine a band of Cherokees, clad in deerskins, sitting around a crackling campfire, cooking up some "Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing" with a side of pemmican and an impertinent sauvignon blanc.

    10. KW, when did I state that I was a conservative? I'm neither conservative or liberal as I believe the two-party system is a ploy to politically divide us from within.

    12. KW, OK, you can play the "us vs them" left-right paradigm. I believe neither party truly works for the American people.

A conspiracy is two or more persons or parties secretly plotting to do something sinister. Yeah, I believe it happens all the time with this government.

    13. But is Elizabeth Warren a fraud? That's what we really want to know. Egnor is an expert on frauds. He sees them EVERYWHERE.

  5. Egnor, the MSM has been on the decline for some time now, due in no small part to alternate news sources on the internet. They're losing the information war. Because the state and corporate-run MSM cannot get away with monopolizing content and hoodwinking the public like they used to, the Obama administration is now trying to concede control of our internet infrastructure over to foreign governments. That's right, one of the greatest American inventions and they want to simply give it away. Simply unbelievable. Anyone who's awake knows that this is an underhanded effort to censor speech the state takes exception to and wash their hands of involvement after the fact.

As for David Gregory, I don't care either way as I have no interest in watching socialist-communist propaganda. Let 'em dwell in obscurity.

  6. As you mentioned Doc, Gregory is just one lowlife among many who long ago traded their honor (if they ever had any) for access, acceptance and wealth. Because they ditched their own integrity, they can’t stomach anyone who demonstrates it -- aka Sharyl Attkisson. Truth tellers are always the enemy in a culture devoid of personal integrity.

It’s stunning how much the old network journalism has come to mirror Orwell’s Ministry of Truth. Their product is nothing but abject propaganda and mindless fluff. Most of what they say can’t be trusted, and the rest is stories about cat’s chasing their tales – worthless. While there are zombies among us who want spoon-fed affirmation (otherwise known as The Walking Democrats -- and these people represent what’s left of their audience) most people long to know the real unvarnished truth. For decades Americans implicitly trusted the Walter Cronkites of the world, but for better or worse, we’ve become cynical, and even if we didn’t know the back-story, when the truth is covered up, we sense it and go elsewhere to find it.

Fortunately the first wave of the New Media arrived on the scene just as Newsweek and NBC were burying Clinton’s rape of Juanita Broderick and the stained blue dress. The New Media filled the void of truth. Now, the truth is out there on stories like Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS et al. One still has to separate the wheat from the chaff but the paradigm has completely changed. We are in a new day.

What’s most fascinating to me about it is the new dynamic that we operate in. In the past a scandal was either known or unknown to the general public – like JFK’s philandering. But now, scandals are no longer covered up, but politicians -- like the Clintons, Obama, John Edwards and Kerry -- still try to operate as if the American people were ignorant of what’s going on. I wonder what goes on in their heads? It must be like standing naked in front of church if they let themselves think about it at all. I think this is why, instead of being their inquisitors, the old media has become their personal bodyguards. If the old media did their jobs, and simply told the truth, America would be transformed and they would lose their positions of power, and this is far more important to them than an old, useless word like honor.

Comrade B Rich [I shudder at the name], speaking as Commissar of the Ministry of Truth, I take great exception to your careless and inflammatory description of our tireless labors in your service.

Without our good work in spiking stories, publishing photoshopped images, editing video and audio to invent the stories that must be told, ginning up Fake but Accurate® memoranda, and general bootlicking for celebrity politicians, you and the rest of the knuckle-dragging lumpenproletariat would still be using nontoxic lightbulbs.
