Another secular paradise, unless you're a woman

Atheists invariably cite the "success" of godless societies like Sweden.

Oh well...

The indispensable Gatestone Institute reports on some very disturbing news out of Sweden. 

In 1975, the Swedish parliament unanimously decided to change the former homogeneous Sweden into a multicultural country. Forty years later the dramatic consequences of this experiment emerge: violent crime has increased by 300%. 

If one looks at the number of rapes, however, the increase is even worse. In 1975, 421 rapes were reported to the police; in 2014, it was 6,620. That is an increase of 1,472%. 

That makes Sweden the rape capital of the West, second globally to only Lesotho in Southern Africa in the number of rapes it suffers.

Atheists are perplexed. Why would men kill and rut without conscience, in a society that embraces Darwinism and denies ultimate moral law and ultimate accountability?

Atheists are beset by so many mysteries.

Hillary is utterly responsible for the catastrophe in Libya. Of course, the press is too busy on pressing matters of national policy to ask Ms. Clinton how she feels about the outcome of her Libya policy.

The MSM is going to have a spin-fest for the 2016 election. Making Hillary look like anything but the worst secretary of state in American history (at best) and a paid agent of the Muslim Brotherhood (at worst) is going to call for Herculean efforts at deception.

In a related matter, the press is fanatically doubling down on its efforts to hold Scott Walker accountable for his opinions on evolution that he didn't express.

Please pray for these innocent men who were murdered, and for all of the innocent Christians and others who are dying at the hands of Islamic monsters who have been empowered by our government.

Of course, no one cares about Brian Williams' lies about helicopters and RPG's. The lies that matter are his lies (of commission and omission) about politics and world affairs for the past couple of decades. Those lies have been uncountable and scandalous--the failure to vet Obama, failure to tell the truth about Islam, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, Fast and Furious, Gosnell, the list goes on and on.

But libs are calling for his head, surprisingly. Why would a bunch of lefties want a guy who lied like a rug for them for decades fired?

Either way, the untenable nature of Williams’s position becomes even clearer. Imagine that Clinton’s sniper story becomes a campaign issue. How does Williams, in the anchor chair, comfortably report that news, even after six months away?

How can Brian Williams lie effectively for Hillary Clinton, when Williams is a known liar, and his value to the left is fatally compromised? Lies are ineffective if told by a known liar. It's unknown liars that they need.

There's gonna be a need for a lot of lies for Hillary in 2016, and the MSM can't rely on a known liar to do it.  

Divest this

The little Himmlers at UC Davis have been busy:

Last night, the student government at the University of California at Davis voted in favor of a resolution to divest from corporations profiting from Israel’s occupation.
In a landslide vote — eight voting yes, two against and two abstaining — the student government at UC Davis recommended that the University of California system’s governing body divest from Caterpillar, G4S, Veolia Environment and Raytheon.

I'm all for divestment. Since the USA is a collaborator with the Zionist Entity, divestment from the federal government would seem imperative. The federal government should cut all funding to the UC system. We sure don't want the UC volk to be stained by Zionist money.

Cut off all federal funding for campuses in which elected student representatives vote for BDS. You want divestment? You got divestment.

In response to the Muslim terrorist attacks in Copenhagen, President Obama today reminded Danish citizens that Denmark is in no position to get haughty about terrorism extremism workplace violence:

"And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Viking raids on the British Isles in the 9th century, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Thor. In Denmark, conquest all too often was justified in the name of Thor. Michelle and I returned from Denmark -- an incredible, beautiful country, full of magnificent diversity -- but a place where, in past years, religious faiths of all types have, on occasion, been targeted by other peoples of faith, simply due to their heritage and their beliefs -- acts of intolerance that would have shocked Hans Christian Andersen..."

I'm back

Just can't keep away. I took some time off from the blog--I'll write about it at some point. But there's so much going on in the world that I just can't stay away.

For today's post I'll just refer you dear readers to a post by one of my heroes--Wesley J. Smith. Wes comments on the ongoing debate over the "brain death" of Jahi McMath, the child who suffered brain damage during a surgical procedure in California in 2013. She was declared brain dead, although her family has continued to support her (feed her, etc) and several doctors have contradicted the original diagnosis of brain death.

I have no personal knowledge of the case. Perhaps she is brain dead, and her family and supporters are in error. If indeed she is not brain dead, then the diagnosis of brain death is a very serious medical error and the obstinate persistence in this error, despite evidence that she is not dead, is criminal.

If she is not brain dead, there would be several reasons for declaring her brain dead and persisting in that error/lie:

1) Stupidity.

2) A general devaluation of the life of handicapped people.

3) She's cheaper in a lawsuit--once she is declared dead, expenses incurred by her family for her support will probably not be factors in the financial judgement.

Again, I have no direct knowledge of this situation. But brain death is an easy diagnosis to make (i've made it hundreds of times), and mistakes should be very rare and should be corrected immediately if made.

If she is not brain dead, heads should roll. As I pointed out above, there are motives for lying about her condition, and if these are indeed lies, action against the licenses of the doctors involved is imperative, and criminal charges for persisting in the lie should be considered.

Furthermore, the Americans with Disabilities Act would seem to protect severely handicapped people from discrimination, and declaring them corpses when they are not would certainly seem to be "discrimination".
