This heart-breaking photo from a surveillance camera shows Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, bomber #2 (in red circle) and the bomb that he has just dropped (red circle), next to eight year old Martin Richard (blue circle) and his mom and little sister, who were gravely injured in the attack. Little Martin, who had come to the race with his family to watch his dad, was killed.
Pure evil. This bastard put the bomb right next to women and children. I hope by the time this post goes up that they've caught this scum.
It's hard to put my anger into words. This is perhaps the most disturbing photo I've ever seen. Such evil lurks in man.
I share your revulsion, as do those whose innocent friends and families have been killed by drone strikes.
ReplyDeleteEcon prof Bill Anderson asks Is the Boston Bombing the "Moral Equivalent" of Drone Strikes?.
ReplyDeleteHe concludes this very brief post: "I am sure that the horror that people in Muslim countries experience at a drone strike is every bit as awful as what people experienced in Boston yesterday. I do not believe that we are free to denounce the evil at Boston and cheer on the evil our government perpetrates overseas. We must denounce both or risk being the worst hypocrites on the planet."
A loving omnipotent God would never allow this to happen. God’s failure to stop it makes him just as responsible as the bombers.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a sad fact, if Christianity is true, that the victims may be burning in hell, and the bomber may end up going to heaven.
Screw God. Why would anyone worship such a monster?

Personally, I could not hold the citizens of Boston responsible for what the Pentagon and the Alphabet Soup people do. By that logic on would have to support the drone strikes. Admitting two wrongs don't make a right, does not make one of the right.
DeleteThey're still both wrong, Anon.
That said, I am against both drone strikes and bombings of public venues.
Drones should be RARE, in the role of recon/support (ie no fire), and under LOCAL, direct unit control.
I have voiced my opinion on this officially, several times. I know I am not alone in my sentiments.
On the drones themselves I would add: We NEED a convention on these things similar to WMDs. Restrictions on development and testing, & use (domestic/warzones etc)...
Sorry, Anon.
DeleteThat posted on the wrong thread. Should be one up.
On KW,
Delete"A loving omnipotent God would never allow this to happen."
KW knows what an omnipotent being would NEVER do.
He KNOWS, mind you.
"God’s failure to stop it makes him just as responsible as the bombers."
KW being a direct link to the mind of the Omnipotent one's will, knows of the great culpability of the Creator. He doesn't understand what freedom is, but he is sure about this stuff.
KW also knows that because of his great wisdom, he is also responsible and will now be forced to smite himself (not too mightily, we hope).
"t’s a sad fact, if Christianity is true, that the victims may be burning in hell, and the bomber may end up going to heaven."
A shrill spin on the concept of redemption and forgiveness. That a murderer could be forgiven their sins horrifies KW. The other people going to hell is not any real concern to him. First, in his own 'worldview' people are just animals that somehow come unstuck from reality when they die and cease to exist.
Hell, for him, is an abstraction. So he does not really care about hell, one way or the other.
Instead, KW protests salvation.
For it is salvation that truly terrifies his sacrilegious mind. The sacred is horrific to him. The concept of sanctity drives him nuts.
The profane, in turn, becomes second nature.
KW is an online exemplar of this transformation.
Reader take note!
"For it is salvation that truly terrifies his sacrilegious mind."
DeleteWell said, Sir.
My concern is that the Obama Administration apparently decided not to Mirandize Dzhokhar Tsarnaev:
ReplyDelete[F]ederal law enforcement officials are invoking the public safety exception regarding his Miranda rights, a senior Justice Department official told ABC News.
Although I don't disagree in principle, it's a hell of a risk to take. If a Federal judge decides the legal reasoning is too thin, this guy could basically walk. And the lackwit who warms the seat in the US Attorney General's office isn't exactly known for his legal judgement and temperament (e.g., staggering around like a wino on a bender with the Khalid Sheikh Mohammed debacle).
KW, you are not an atheist. You are an anti-theist. You don't disbelieve in God. You just have issues with the way He runs the universe.
