Ever wonder what low-information voters really think?
From the People's Cube:
From the People's Cube:
• How do I sign a check on the front?
• Why stop at Gun Free Zones? We should also create Crime Free Zones!
• I voted for Change, so how come things are still the same?
• The National Socialist Party had nothing to do with Socialism, right?
• We have weekends off, thanks to unions. If enough people join unions, we can get the other five days off.
• My body is my business, but so is what other people earn.
• Why read the Constitution when you can watch the Daily Show?
• Voting "D" = free stuff. Voting "R"= bummer, I'll have to work.
• We keep voting democrat, but we're STILL poor.
• The First lady is like Kim Kardashian, except with other people's money.
• Someday I'll live in my OWN basement.
And this is where low-information voters come from:
ReplyDeleteMy son is almost 29 and he’s been home with us since he graduated... He has a college education, it’s pointless for him to be out working in a retail store or some other menial job. I will be here for him until he is able to get the job he deserves.
--- Letter from a Left-Wing Dad
I wonder if Dad's boy is the guy with an MFA in Puppetry and $100,000 in school loan debt?
Anyway, it's sweet that some adult children can live with affluent parents until early retirement (the child's, of course). Fortunately, it makes them undesirable dating prospects ("I live with my Mom, Brandy.") and tends to keep them out of the active breeding population.
However, that is not the case for adult children whose parents are poor. For them The Government substitutes for Mom and/or Dad. And in the case of poor or romantically undesirable women, The Government substitutes for a Husband (it's an open marriage, of course) after they have their first kid or three: see Life of Julia for a documentary on the life cycle of an American parasite.
The only solution to this is, sadly, economic collapse, which, like a trip to the gym after a long time away, may seem like a bad thing when one goes through it but can actually be a good thing in disguise. It certainly toughened up a generation of Progressive-era Flappers enriched by a corrupt Wall St. Hardship created a generation with grit that defeated the German/Japanese war machine with steel and sinew. You know, the old coots that President Jeebus Lightworker tried, but failed, to kick out of the WWII and Iwo Jima Memorials.
"My body is my business... until it gets sick, then I want somebody else to pay for taking care of it." That was the mantra of Jeebuscare (Vote for Me, and you will be healed!), and the irony is that the young LIVs are either going to be subsidizing everybody else in the risk pool with overpriced insurance or paying the tax.
["My body is my business... until it gets sick, then I want somebody else to pay for taking care of it."]
ReplyDeleteHeh.
I feel for you, guys.
ReplyDeleteWhile you're laughing at "low information voters," your brand of politics has become deeply unpopular with the American public. Only 24 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of the GOP, the lowest number ever recorded by Wall Street/NBC polls. And the Tea Party is doing even worse.
That government shutdown is going so well for the GOP!

Fighting Santa Claus is no easy, nor popular, task.
Fighting imaginary threats is what conservatives do best.

I thought you folks had machines that voted for you?
ReplyDeleteConservatives have never had the youth vote. My first vote at age 21 was for Jimmy Carter.
ReplyDeleteIf you are a conservative before 30, you don't have a heart. If you're a liberal after 30, you don't have a brain.
And they're doing even worse with the latest shenanigans.

Speaking of popularity,
ReplyDeleteFor almost a decade after 1933, Hitler enjoyed a remarkable degree of popularity among the great majority of the German people.
--- History Today: The Hitler Myth
LIVs, leftists, and the ignorant are always attracted to "popular" political figures. Now think back to the speech in Chicago and the styrofoam Greek columns...
A cult of personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda, or other methods, to create an idealized, heroic, and at times, god-like public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.
Why, he's "almost like a god", that President Jeebus McLightworker.
Popularity: the salve for weak minds.
One quick edit: "LIVs, leftists, and the ignorant is redundant and " should read "leftists".
DeleteSorry!
