Liberal Logic...

  1. Another lie parroted by Egnor. The Tea Party does not have a larger proportion of blacks than the US Congress.

According to a 2010 Gallup poll, the fraction of non-Hispanic blacks among Tea Party supporters is 6 percent, which is significantly lower than in the US overall (11 percent). In contrast, blacks are represented proportionally in the US Congress: the congressional black caucus has 43 members, or 10 percent of the number of US Representatives.

    1. Okay, you're both wrong.

Using Anon's facts, we can see that there is a larger percentage of blacks in Congress than in the Tea Party. (Although I might add that the stats he uses are for supporters. I'm a supporter of the Tea Party, though I've never attended one and would thus wouldn't call myself a member. There's a distinction between supporter and member.)

On the other hand, Anon is comparing the Tea Party to the House only. We have a bicameral legislature. You're forgetting the other one hundred members. If we include all 535 voting members, that means that the black percentage of Congress is eight percent, not ten.

Tea Party supporters (not members) are six percent black, while the Congress is eight percent black.

I'll be charitable and not call Anon a "liar."

    2. I stand corrected, Joey. It's eight percent if you include both chambers.

My main point stands. There are more blacks in Congress than in the Tea Party.

  2. Egnor will parrot any lie - no matter how outrageous - if he thinks it supports his ideology. I hope his children don't read this blog and discover what a lowlife their father is. The shame must be unbearable.
