People who destroyed Detroit have a great idea about what to do with its carcass

Democrat loon Ed Brayton doesn't understand irony.

Brayton:
[There's] an intriguing plan to repopulate the city of Detroit, which has lost more than a million residents from its peak. The idea: Bring in a million or so refugees from the Syrian civil war.
Detroit is Liberalism writ city-sized. The once thriving metropolis made the fatal mistake of electing liberal Democrats for a half-century, and thus committed the predictable municipal suicide. Baltimore and Chicago and Washington D.C. and Ferguson and New Orleans are lining up to quaff the same liberal kool-aid. Democrats ladle it fresh to each generation.

As wry observers have noted, Detroit would have been better off nuked than governed by liberal Democrats.

I'll leave aside the merits of importing a million new Democrat voters Syrian refugees to repopulate the carcass of a city destroyed by Democrats. Taking a liberal Democrat's advice on rebuilding Detroit is like asking Jeffrey Dahmer's advice on gay dating.

I point out to Brayton that Detroit has plenty of refugees already--a half million men, women and children, mostly black, whose lives have been decimated by liberal policies for a half-century.

We've got refugees from the Democrat war in our own cities. Let's save our own refugees first.

  1. And the corporate greed decisions to move car plants to countries with cheap labour had nothing to do with it.

Political decisions obviously have a big impact on how a city evolves. But blaming it on the Democrats is just loony. There are plenty of examples of large cities governed by what you lovingly call "lefties" that do very well. Take a look at Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

Actually, there are quite a few car manufacturing plants in the US.

Just none in Detroit. I guess having 10% of your workforce murdered each day on the way into work would screw up production quotas.

And Democrat exemplars such as Baltimore, Newark, St Louis, Ferguson, New Orleans, Chicago and Washington DC have been decimated by "the corporate greed decisions to move car plants" too. It has nothing to do with their governments.

If you want to know more about what caused Detroit's fall, you can visit the cities former Democrat bosses and ask them. Visiting hours at the State Prison are 1-5 on weekdays.

This will help you understand a bit more about Detroit and Democrats:

I was in Vancouver and Montreal decades ago, and they were nice cities. I was in Toronto recently, and I was unimpressed. Kept having to step over derelicts. I hear that the city ran better when the leftie mayor was using a higher grade of crack.

    1. Canada has libtards, but it doesn't have Democrats (except for the ones fleeing extradition treaties).

Democrats are an unusually virulent strain of the libtard species--Democrats have literally used the systematic killing and oppression of blacks for 200 years to stay in power, putting them in a moral position Canadian liberals can only dream of.

Actually you would have loved that mayor. His politics were far closer to yours than they are to mine. He was a rabid social and fiscal conservative who refused to have anything to do with Pride parades or anything remotely LGBT. You must be so proud of him.

Toronto has its problems. But for the fourth largest city in North America, it does fairly well for itself yes, there are homeless, but those increased during the reign of the conservative crack smoking mayor, largely because of his right wing policies that cut back on all programs that provided support for them and helped many rise out of poverty.
